Exeter River,
The “Fall Paddle” returns for a eighth year! The Exeter River is a town treasure running through the middle of Brentwood. A pristine river with an abundance of wildlife, much of the land along the river has been conserved, resulting in very little development along its shores and a very natural experience. Whether you are a frequent paddler on the river, or have never been out on it, we hope you will consider joining in.
Departs: River Access Stairs – Rowell Road West
Destination: Pickpocket Dam

Rain or shine within reason.
No Cost, BBQ Lunch Provided
Life Jacket for each participant required
BYOB* (Bring Your Own Boat – canoe, kayak, or paddle board) *no power/electric boats
Participants will check in at the Rowell Rd. entry and must show proof of life vests. The paddle will proceed downriver to the Pickpocket Dam at Cross Rd. (about 1 hour paddle). A lunch of hamburgers and hot dogs will be served, along with info on keeping the river healthy. From there participants may paddle back up river (very little current), or transportation will be available to drive those not wishing to do the return paddle back to Rowell Rd.
***Brentwood has several canoes and kayaks available to borrow (the event is open to anyone, but loaner boats are for town residents only). Boats must be picked up at the boat launch on the day of and participants must transport them to and from the river. Please email recreation@brentwoodnh.gov to reserve a boat in advance and to arrange a time for pick up / drop off***
This event is a collaboration between the Brentwood Recreation Department and the Exeter Squamscott River Local Advisory Committee.
